LE SAINT PAUL, Saint Paul de Vence, Côte d’Azur

THE PAST:

The first stone of the 16th-Century building which is now The Saint Paul Hotel dates from 1511 – which makes it older than the village of Saint Paul de Vence itself. It was first a hospital, and later, a church; and, at one time, a clandestine meeting place in which secret societies conspired against local rulers. Eventually, it became a private house. Its transformation into a luxury hotel came about in 1989, following extensive restructuring work.

THE PRESENT:

Le Saint Paul is the only luxury hotel within the walls of this village. It became a member of Relais & Chateaux in 1992, and was acquired by the luxury Italian group, Baglioni Hotels, in 2004.

THE PLACE FOR YOU?

The perfect choice for a gourmet getaway, or a romantic escape, this exquisite hotel offers the intimacy of a house at the very heart of a pretty, Provençal village, and your stay will be a unique and memorable experience.
Art-lovers, in particular are drawn to Saint Paul de Vence - as were Modigliani, Matisse, Picasso and Marc Chagall, who lies in its cemetery. Its narrow streets and lanes feature galleries galore.
Rural Provençe is on the doorstep, and Riveria resorts within easy driving distance of the hotel include Antibes, 15 minutes away, and Nice, 30 minutes away, while the perfume capital of Grasse is 40 minutes from the hotel, and St Jean Cap Ferrat and Monaco are 45 minutes distant. Exploring more rural areas of Provence is another option.
The hotel can host small meetings, events and gatherings, and is available for exclusive use on request.
